Direct-X 10 TRU

March 28, 2006

WarAnakin drops word about their preview of what DirectX 10 is going to be all about. DX10 has been talked about not being backwards compatible. Will us X1900 and GeForce 7900 users be screwed? Not entirely sure just yet but below is a snip to get you going:

Making pixel and vertex shaders work differently than in previous Direct X versions, will not require anymore different pipelines. This explains why ATI X1900 has 48 pipelines and not all of them are pixel pipelines. They are "dynamic" pipelines. That means that the pipeline can become either vertex or pixel pipeline. I’m not so sure about it, but it can be possible. Direct X 10 is also gonna introduce shader model 4.0 . I wonder who’s gonna be the first graphic company to support it ? I have slight reasons to think that ATI are going to be the 1st to do it because they work head to head with Microsoft.

p/s: Buy upgrade for Nvidia or ATi later. Cool graphic wooo
